The "read/unread" thing is a big hack ... it needs a lot of improvement, but I am not really interested in going any further.
The "loading..." behaviour is intenetional, technically, the page _is_ still loading, though you have clicked on "show anyway". The message disappears as soon as the page finishes loading.
